User reviews...

I played with a one for a little while at best buy today. Way to short a period for a review, but I will say this thing is fast! This device is the fastest of any ive ever played with or had to open up apps. My only real complaint is no physical button for the camera. This is a big deal to me. Coming from an iphone 5, build quality is def up there with the htc.(something I've wanted for a very long time) I played with the camera for a bit, not messing with any settings and was a little disappointed with the quality of taking fast pictures. Im going to go back tomorrow or a sprint store to mess around with it more. I might be close to an upgrade with one of my lines so ill see. I don't know if its worth it to get another phone on sprint though because the speed for their network in San Diego sucks so so so much. But then again its so much cheaper.

What do you mean disappointed with taking fast pictures? You can take pictures as fast as you can tap the screen.

I'm thinking a lot of people will complain about the phone not being consistently flush around the whole phone. Your going to find spots like where the screen is flush against the grills and other spot which aren't. Spots on the sides that are flush and spots that aren't. It won't be a deal breaker for me, and I doubt AT&T would swap it out for such minor blemishes. Other than that, the phone is a real beauty. It looks and feels much better than trying to fumble with the charging demo in the stores. I definitely need some sort of case though. :)

HTC One X

This is a $600 consumer device. It should be perfect out of the box. If not, I would exchange it. As for your assumption that a lot of people will get imperfect Ones...feel free to head back to the S4 forums, because its unfounded. Many people are getting excellently built Ones.

Agree...no reasons for anyone to make excuse for poor quality control of any device. I need to get a look at one of these but I also need Verizon coverage..would love to replace my Note 2 with an HTC One if I can live with being on AT&T. But Verizon has them smoked coverage wise..not even close, especially with LTE.

Update - just looked at one at the AT&T store. They said I was the first one who asked to see it. Very good build quality and screen and I am very picky about both. Not quite iPhone 5 build quality but pretty close. Now I just have to decide if I can live with going back to AT&T or not...probably not since I travel alot and their coverage sucks in some of the major cities I am often in like San Fran and NYC. If it was on Verizon it would have already replaced my Note 2. WTH is Verizon thinking not getting this phone?

The quality of the pics when snapping fast is what I was getting at. Images were not crisp, lighting was not good (took pics in store) compared to my iphone 5 I had, its not up there. Shutter time is a little faster then the 5 but quality of pics are not.

You have NO idea how awesome it is to see this signature :D
