Using a Verizon S7 phone with US Cellular service

I have an s7 through Verizon. But Verizon doesn't pick up at my house. So I currently have services with US Cellular but I'm having to use an older phone because the salesman at US Cellular told me that I cannot use the s7 with their service. Everywhere I read tells me something different. Are they just trying to make money off me or will the phone really not work? Or what can I do to make it work?
