Using an unreliable charger

I just switched from an iPhone to my P2 and pulled out an old USB C charger bought from Verizon. It worked for a few days but send it didn't charge my phone last night. It doesn't look like it charged at all but concerned that it was cycling between charging and not charging. Would that be an issue for the battery?

USB C cables are spotty sometimes. Why not used the included charger and cable? Is this for a secondary location? If so you might want to do a bit of research and pick up a reliable charging brick and cable. There are a few threads on this around here somewhere already.

I needed longer cable than what was provided. The cable and brick were purchased from my carrier. Any thoughts on if it could effect the battery?

Are the chargers for the 2 XL the same as the chargers for the original Pixel's?

It's not a battery issue. I've noticed something strange with the Pixel 2 XL when I use the non-OEM charger. It will work, until I use the OEM charger. After that, my alternate charger will not charge until I power cycle the phone. Then it will charge until I use the OEM charger again. Rinse/repeat.

It is very strange, probably something to so with the charging circuitry and PD, but give that a try and see if that explains the issue for you.
