Using Android Assistant while on the phone

I realize that while I'm talking on the phone Android Assistant is "verbally" inoperative. But why won't it allow me to TYPE like I can when I'm not on the phone but don't want to speak my inquiry but rather type it in?

Probably the assistant can't use the same mic and speaker while on call , one at a time thing

Well, now I have an additional question. This morning when I bring up Assistant, it has NO MIC so I can only type. But if I type in a query, then the MIC appears and I can talk for additional queries.

What gives? Did Assistant read this thread and change things around on me?

Lol I don't use assistant enough to troubleshoot this for you but I think u found a work around
