Just about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one.
But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.
The last time i was using android file transfer my sister asked to help her sync stuff so i connected her s4 mini and android file transfer said the same thing it said to me. That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. Yesterday i looked on forums on how to fix and they kept saying to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Using Android File Transfer

Are you rooted? And can you see your files when you hook up to PC, Computer>*drive lettter*>HTC ONE? Does your files display?

Re: Using Android File Transfer

No, I've never rooted my phone.
Yes, when I hook my phone to my samsung laptop (windows 7) i am able to display and edit my files.
Android file transfer used to work but now it doesn't

Have you tried HTC Sync Manager? It says it works on Mac.

HTC Sync Manager

Re: Using Android File Transfer

I've tried HTC Sync Manager and it sucked really bad.
I tried to sync some songs and it kept giving random errors.
I would rather use my Windows than use that application.

Re: Using Android File Transfer

I'm currently banging my head on this one. The only way I can get Android File Transfer to work on Mavericks with my HTC One is to reboot the computer with the phone already plugged in. Then it will work. If you then unplug it and plug it back in it wont connect again!

It drives me crazy - wish someone could work out a solution to this!

i am experiencing this as well. found this workaround by chance also.

i find there is still a backwards mentality when it comes to android that everyone who uses that OS is believed to be using a Windows PC.

i really hope Google takes the reigns on this matter and produces a software that works with Macs because in my experience since I've ditched the iPhone in favour of android the interaction between android and the mac has been the biggest obstacle to a smooth experience.

Yeah,I know. I love my Mac and wouldnever give it up, but love my HTC one too. Air droid is great, but you need the speed of a cable sometimes. AFT was working, so something has buggered
it up.... Argh! What is the point if I can connect to my laptop!

I have the same problem with my mac. HTC sync manager was working earlier. Now it is not. Then i tried android file transfer. It worked for some time. Now it does not. I have tried everything that was suggested in this forum., like usb debugging, restarting mac with phopne connected. Uninstalling and reinstalling. nothing seems to work. any other new suggestion.
