Using apps without sim card installed?

So my Costco Rezound arrived last week, but Verizon keeps screwing up my summer card activation (long story for another thread.) They are ivetbighting me another card they can try again tomorrow. In the meantime, I couldn't wait any longer so I started downloading my apps via WiFi and started playing around with the phone. I'm not making any calls or sending emails, however I do have incoming email. All this sans simple card. Is this OK? Am I screwing up the process in any way? I should also mention that my previous phone , well still current actually, is still fully functional as a phone, etc. Is there any reason I shouldn't start customizing my Rezound while I wait for the sim card? Thanks!

I guess there could be something different about the Rezound but I got mine around 2 weeks ago and I gave my friend my Thunderbolt and he did a factory reset and bypassed the activation on it and used it on Wifi for a few days just to see if he liked it. He signed into his google account which put his contacts and stuff on the phone and he downloaded a bunch of apps.

He called verizon after using it 2-3 days and said he was given a Thunderbolt and they mailed him a Sim card. He said he put it in the Thunderbolt and it activated the phone,data etc and everything was fine.I don't see what would be different for the Rezound or your situation.

If you are really worried you could give Verizon a call but I don't see you shouldn't be fine
