Using Bluetooth with Equalizer App

I've asked a variation of this question once before but not much luck.
I have a Samsung Note4 and stream music via Bluetooth into my car stereo.
Using an equalizer is a must have for me but I haven't had much luck finding one that stays on consistently with a Bluetooth connection. When the eq shuts off the sound becomes incredibly loud until I fiddle and switch the eq back on. Its annoying and distracts me when I'm driving.
What eq apps work best? I've tried most and they all suck. The only one that works (stays on via Bluetooth) is *Sound Alive*, the built-in Samsung eq. But accessing it is a pain. Very labor intensive and was told there is no shortcut or widget for it.

Have you tried Power Amp for your music? Nice player and has equalizer built in.

I use Slacker and PlayMusic. Power Amp doesn't work with streaming services.
