One of the things I liked about Samsung and LG is the ability to theme easily.

I do remember my Galaxy Nexus having a much darker theme now that you mention it.

IMO dark mode should be the default so that we get the best battery life from the get go.

I think that that's a terrible idea. Readability is a big issue. If someone wants to put battery saving over that, I'm not going to argue with them. But I don't think that battery trumps all.

I like dark/night mode as well. Even have black wallpaper *smile*. A black oled pixel consumes zero power (it's just off), not so for an LCD pixel.

I would love Dark Mode on the Phone app or at least go back to that calming Blue color.
