Using GS4 in steam room?

I used to plug my iPhone into a travel speaker and play Spotify when I was showering, but since the S4 is so new to me I've been hesitant to do so. My bathroom doesn't have a fan so it steams up a lot. Could this cause some issues to the phone?

You could always go low tech and slip your phone into a ziploc bag and sinch it down around the cord. It's quick, cheap, and reusable.

I use my S4 radio in the bathroom while showering and so far so good...Idk about a sauna or steam room like environment with heavy steam... I'd put it in a ziploc back as well

I invested in a bluetooth speaker and just leave my phone in the room and keep the speakee with me. It works extremely well.

Ziplocks aren't all that waterproof and can sweat. I'd go with a drybag or do the bluetooth remote speaker like msavic6 said and keep your phone in a safe and dry location.

I've used it in a steamy bathroom almost daily since I got my s4 I have no issues with it at all. I use it for music

Thanks guys. I did mean steam from a shower, not like a sauna, but I thought Steamy Room sounded too adult themed.

I'd do this. No worries then.

A good question for folks closer to the equator, since outside in general tends to be a steam room there.

If the S3 that has a year of history has done fine there, so should the S4 for "ambient" moisture.

Florida can suck some days.. I walk outside and I feel like someone just tossed a bucket of water at me lol.

Nice way to trigger the moisture sensors, and not get any warranty work done ...

I'd expect the water detection strips to require full submersion before they'd signify "water damage", not being in a room with a shower. Otherwise, the entire city of London would likely lose their warranty.

I dunno man, if you gotta ask, then you know its risky. How long are your showers? If your in there for hours a day...but 10 minutes or so shouldn't hurt.

I did it every morning with my iPhone, but i feel it was better sealed. I'll give the bluetooth speaker a shot.

You keep on thinking that then...
