Using "hey google" for reminders

I used "hey google" awhile back to set a reminder and it asked if I wanted to use the reminders app or tasks, I said reminders and it worked. Today I asked it to set a reminder and it told me I need to link a email account. What changed?

Ok clear data then force stop the Google app then go back in to see if you have to set-up hey Google again see if this helps
