I was a bit surprised. Granted this was at night but I was also running satellite view. AC wasn't on but it was cool outside.

I've found that the GPS system employed on the device is really well optimised power wise. Using it with Pokémon GO also uses far less power than I expected.

Going from a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge to an Honor 5x, I must say one of the main advantages is the battery life. I too find myself playing Pokemon Go for so much longer. Also comes in very handy when using maps.

I've used Waze for navigation, Google Play Music, all streaming over Bluetooth in my car, and had similar usage. It was maybe 10% for 40 minutes as opposed to 50, but still similar. Very pleased with the battery performance.

This doesn't seem that surprising. The screen is on and the GPS is working. 1% for every 5 minutes sounds totally normal.

The pleasant part of it is that the phone doesn't overheat and drain more quickly, unless it's an already hot day and on your car dashboard.

Yeah it definitely runs pretty cool compared to the competition
