Hi guys

I use my phone to read alot off stuff, etc, due to which short screen switch off setting (eg. 1min) is too short for me. I have my screen set at 2 minutes right now.

Now, this is a bit of a nuisance when texting or accessing the phone for a brief moment - im a left, the phones big; i need to jiggle the phone in my hand to reach the screen button.

I use a cover that has a flap. It would be perfect if i could somehow use the proximity sensor to detect when the flap covers the screen to turn it off.

I also have a cheap cover for 20e. It has no magnet in it.

Please advise.
Cheers

I've heard that people have taken fridge magnets and attached them to the cover so it knows when the cover is closed. Maybe try modding your cover with a magnet to let the device know you're not using it anymore.

To elaborate a bit:

Many phones have a magnetic field sensor specifically for turning the display on/off when activated by a flip cover with a suitably located embedded magnet. I'm not sure about the S7, but you can cut a 1/4" or 1/2" square from a fridge magnet and slide it along the entire face of your phone (when turned on) to see if there is a magic spot which will turn the display off. Then, attach that bit of magnet to your case in the appropriate position or find another case that has the magnet already embedded.

use an app called screebl.. works great and very reliable.. battery friendly too!

Or just buy the samsung clear cover / S-view cover. But its expensive.
