I have seen some apps that will use the "proximity sensor" to turn off display when going into a pocket or case, but it seems like that should be a function of the OS. Is it there and I don't see it, or will I need to depend on a 3rd party app that will shorten my battery life during the day

That proximity sensor option is not available on the Epic Touch.

Motorola wrote that proximity sensor option into the OS on the Motorola Photon....

That's what I was afraid of. Guess I'll try to find a low battery use app for it then. Thanks.
