Hi;

I just picked up a note 10.1 2014. I should have it next week. What I am wondering about is can I copy all the software that is on my cell phone (Samsung Note 3) to the tablet? I was thinking about trying a back up or something to sd card.

If you use both a samsung phone and one of these tablets, any tips?

thanks for any advice.

Not all apps are compatible with tablets, and some have special apps for tablets, so you're better off not backing up apps and just letting Google either auto-install the apps (it'll ask you to do so when you first set up the tablet) or manually installing them yourself. Sometimes the same app link on the Play store will install different APK files depending on the device you're downloading it into, so the file for the phone might not be the same for the tablet, even though they come from the same link in the Play Store.

As far as tips, download SideSync 3 if you have a Samsung Phone. With that you can mirror your phone screen on the tablet and do other cool stuff with it, like sharing a PC keyboard/mouse, sharing files, etc. Pretty nifty.

I can't help with the question but am posting just to say, I am so jealous! I really want that tablet soooooo bad!! I just can't justify the cost/use of it for "ME" right now. I hope you enjoy it!!!

If I want to answer text messages from my tablet, do I need the side sync for that or is there a way to link the phone and tablet together?

Thanks GregMargie...it was an eBay purchase, but I am also selling my third gen iPad so I am only upside down about 25 dollars.

I was so happy when I made the switch from an iPhone to an android. Now I am happy to get rid of the iPad for the Samsung tablet!

Oh, Thats awesome! I was never much of an Apple girl (never owned an apple product).....to many limitations and waaay to proprietary eco system for me. Congrats on your great purchase, I hope it works out well for you!

You may be able to use 'Pushbullet' app for text from phone to tablet. I use it from my Note 4 to desktop computer. It works really well. If I am sitting at my desk and a text comes to my phone it pops up on my desktop (have to have a chrome browser open) I can also send photos from my phone to desktop with the app.

If you get root access on both your tablet and your phone you could backup all of the apps and their data on your phone, and then restore from the backup on your tablet. This can be done using an app such as titanium backup or ease backup. I personally use ease backup.

You can't copy a specific phones software to a tablet or any device for that matter unless its the same phone with same build. You'd sure enough brick it or it wouldn't work at all. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question do you mean system software or apps?
