Does using the wired/DAC audio on the HTC 10 use more battery than using Bluetooth headphones?

Not had a chance to test it yet, and this is my first phone with a DAC of this quality. I don't wanna head out and listen to a few hours of music only to find that it slaughters the battery.

Cheers.

I've been surprised at how little the battery drains from music. The 10 uses less battery playing music then my last phone did just idling.

So far I've only used my Bose wireless on my commute, and the drain was almost the same as on the S7 Edge (before all the battery issues which led me to change to the HTC10).

I'll try the bundle HTC earpods tonight on the way home and see how they go. They sound amazing from the brief time I've given them so far.

I have done both extensively. I have found that streaming audio over BT uses more battery than using the AUX port and the DAC. I couldn't give you an absolute number, but if I would venture a guess I would put it near 15% more power use over BT. I average 16-20h of AUX/DAC audio listening between charges.

I stream locally stored music for about 9 hours a day to a Bluetooth speaker. I use my watch to control it and reply to texts. I use 30 to .35% of the battery.
