Using the X without activating through Verizon?

Should receive my X this afternoon. I am assuming that like the Droid and Incredible, the X will boot to the "must activate" screen.

Is the process the same as the Droid (touching each corner in sequence) to get past this screen, so the phone can be explored prior to activation?
