Using USB OTG (No Rooting)

have a Micromax A88 and right now I have attached a pen drive using otg cable. From reading everything, it says I can use Es FileExplorer and get to /sdcard/usbStorage/sda1 - however, I cannot get to this folder. When I click on the /sdcard/ - I get clear history.

I tried using my pen drive using otg
Everything I have read speaking about rooting the device, which I do not want to do. How can I get to this folder? Or view files amd folder?
Plz help me

i have a nexus4 and also need USB otg. can you tell me how to do that without routing? my boot loader is unlocked though

The are several phones and mobile devices that won't work OTG cables and that includes OTG cables that are powered even if you are rooted. An example would be the HUAWEI y210 series of phones that can only activate the micro usb port if it's powered such as with it's own USB data cable. Other wise there is no OS or firmware that will activate the phone USB port and the powered OTG cable does not run power to the micro usb port, only the flash drive or keyboard, e.t.c you connect to the OTG cable.

You can get around this by doing a little tickering with a soldering tool and a small switch. What i did was solder on a mini switch that jumpers the usb port diode inside the phone so that the power can now flow both ways. This now tells the OTG cable that there is a device these and you can use the OTG devices and once done you shut the mini switch and the phone works as normal.
