Using Verizon Messages

I'm really liking the Verizon messenger app for texts, but only notice that I've received a message shows up on my gear s. Not the actual message. Any idea if there is a workaround?

How do you have VM setup in your notification bar on your phone. I haven't used the app in about a year or so but if I remember right, set it to show the message in your notification bar and it'll show on your S the same way. Like I said,I don't remember if or how you'd do that. I left Verizon about a year ago but I think it's under its notification settings.

It was already set to show messages in notifications bar. I think I'll just have to settle for stock messenger.

Seeing the message contents on gear requires you to use stock messaging app. For third party messaging apps, you will only see a notification, not the entire message

I see the entire message and can reply with Handcent text app. I can't initiate a text like with the stock app but I can reply to a notification.

I use verizon messages as well... in notifications in gear manager check off the default message app ONLY but in your phone set up Verizon message app as your default messaging app.

I get alerts that say they are from the default messaging app and I can respond to them with my watch. I don't know how or why it works but a friend in another forum who also has Verizon as well told me his worked so I tried it and it does. I can't stand the lag on the default app so I never use it.

I just go into the app and use the "mark all messages as read" under conversation in the left side panel of settings.

Right. But when you go to your phone, the text is still unread
