Re: AT&T One X Root, Boot unlock, S-off on the Jellybean 3.18 OTA Update

i have a couple quick questions here. when using this toolkit.is there instructions or readme that comes with the download i have to look at so that i can understand on how to use it? will it tell me when to proceed to the next step everytime? and the separate files i have to download what do i do with them? place them in the same folder with the toolkit? my goal is to have a stable sense 5 rom running on my at&t htc one x. ive rooted and flashed many devices before but this is my first htc since my g1 (namedrop lol). but ive never used a toolkit like this one before. Do i have to have the rom and kernel preloaded on the int ex sd before i use the toolkit or can i just boot up to stock rom after then load a rom and go back into recovery and flash it? and ive heard over on xda that if i want a sense 5 rom have to downgrade my touch panel firmeware so the phone will respond to touch afterwards. is this true? and if so how do i go about doing that. flash rom first then go back into recovery and then flash the ouch panel firmware? sorry theres so many questions but i always like to be completely sure about what im doing when doing this, as everyone else is? thanks alot in advance guys for all your future assistance

1. When you press each button, an explanation pops up and it tells you what to do. Plus in thr scripts (a cmd prompt will come up), it will say "press enter to continue" so it is super easy.
2. any files the toolkit asks you to download you put in the toolkit folder.
3.use the toolkit first before doing anything.
4.you put the Rom in your internal storage and then flash in recovery. Do this after you have completed all the steps. And make sure to have a backup in recovery before flashing anything.
5. You don't have to downgrade touch panel.

so i can boot up to my stock rom after doing this, then load a rom/kernel and revert back to recovery afterwards to flash? thanks again buddy for the speedy response.

You connect your phone to your computer. Drag the rom zip folder into the phones storage, boot into recovery , wipe, and then flash the rom. My toolkit has a link to a video of me doing this.

Re: AT&T One X Root, Boot unlock, S-off on the Jellybean 3.18 OTA Update

well looks like i have a problem....im using windows xp sp3 version 2002 and i downloaded the latest . net and it says its incompatible with my computer. i dont know what system i have..when i got to system it doesnt display it just says:
windows xp
home edition
version 2002
service pack 3

ive tried clicking the application and it says its not a valid win32 application so im guessing i have 32bit. to be exact it says. the following blocking issues must be resolved in order to proceed. then it says...blocking issues:
.net 4.5.1 is imcompatible with this system.

Try getting .net 3.5 or 4.0

I made sure to backup as soon as I got running and saved to my computer also this time. I'll try and get S Off again also.

Are you having any issues with Clean ROM? I lose cell signal after my screen is locked for a few minutes. When I wake my screen it shows "no service". If I unlock it will reconnect but it kinda sucks for my phone to lose cell signal just because the screen is off. Also, it will randomly power cycle.

It sounds funny but otherwise I am liking Clean ROM.

In the power settings, turn off "sleep mode." To fix signal loss. To fix random reboots, get s off and flash beastmode kernel

What do you mean, sense roms are more flexible?

Posted via Android Central App

They are more acceptant of s on.

I have "sleep mode" off but it is still happening. I tried changing the setting then power cycling then changing it back to off but no luck.

You need to have s-off to fix.
Either by upgrading hboot or by flashing beastmode 3.5 reloaded

Easiest way is to gain s-off and flash beastmode kernel. Upgrading hboot can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

It took me a while but I was able to get S Off last night. I had trouble with adb but once I got that figured out I was able to get S Off manually. I tried Carbon ROM again but it still wouldn't register screen touches so I flashed CM 10.1.3. That is working great so far. Thanks again for all the help wizzrah and arze176.

S-OFF NOT WORKING... I have unlocked the bootloader, have root access and have twrp installed. I downloaded the onex.zip and soffbin3 file and put them in the toolkits folder like the toolkit said and this is what I got even pausing with adb through the individual steps to let phone reboot and everything. this is what I get in adb.
