I've been looking at XDA, and they don't have a lot to choose from. You have any recommendation? She wanting all the "crap" off...lol.

They developer will tell you. Read their posts.

ElementalX and Beastmode for example are only for Sense ROMs. For stock android roms, there is the "Torched" kernel.

recovery makes sure to tell me theres no O.S. every time I leave it but it wont let me install one!

When mounting through twrp there is quite a delay that I have encountered in the past. Once I had to wait almost ten minutes until the computer recognized it. Try re installing drivers then reboot pc and try again

What happens if you do Wipe Cache/davlik...

It will do exactly that. It will wipe cache and dalvik cache. Usually that is erased when you do a factory reset from the "Wipe" section in TWRP. Therefore, it is not necessary to erase them after you flash a ROM. If you per say "accidentally" pressed the wipe cache/dalvik cache button, it's ok. The only major thing is when you boot up, you'll get a message that says "Android is upgrading" or something like that and it will update the apps on your phone. Depending on how many apps you had installed, this can take a while.

i just noticed the htc one vx has an Jellybean update; 4.1.2 V2.21.502.1. Its running ICS. I downloaded it since it wouldn't update auto since the phone had a custom rom and rooted I guess. can I just flash it thru thr recovery? its not a zip file, its a exe file?

i just noticed the htc one vx has an Jellybean update; 4.1.2 V2.21.502.1. Its running ICS. I downloaded it since it wouldn't update auto since the phone had a custom rom and rooted I guess. can I just flash it thru thr recovery? its not a zip file, its a exe file?

I don't know if that will brick the phone. Where did you get it from? It's probably an RUU.

I think running an RUU with supercid will brick your phone. Although a guy I know P.M'd me saying that it worked fine and he had SuperCID. Let me check back with him.

i had to find an older computer that had windows xp to run the ruu for some reason. I had to install it twice to take but it didnt brick my phone. i did lose the unlocked bootloader, it no longer says tampered but my cid is still 1111111 and im still s-off. recovery is also gone. now i got all this at&t bloatware crap back and cant tether. but at least i have a working phone.

Ota updates are not compatible with modified systems. Easiest way put is if your rooted stick with custom roms even if its a debloated stock.
If you are official stock then use ruu. Unless updating radio and hboot which isnt really necessary

Yeah, the only reason I was gonna update it was to get the radio update and to get to Jellybean since most of the custom roms are JB based.
I have read on XDA that I need to flash the factory recovery back to the phone, then I can go back.....So how do you revert back to a factory recovery? better yet where would ya get it?
