After a fresh restart of both devices and background apps closed I can't help but notice how slow the browser is to load web pages in Chrome. I'm using Pixel XL and LG V20.

Can anyone help me to speed up the V20 browsing speed? Thanks in advance. The Pixel XL may take 2-5 seconds to load and the V20 ranges from 5-16 seconds. Huge difference.

Hi! What is your Wi-Fi/LTE strength like when you are browsing? Are you in an area(s) that normally get good reception and overall good Internet connectivity?

Sorry I should have noted that both phones are connected to my Wi-Fi at home.

My girlfriends S7 Edge is on par with the Pixel XL loading speed-wise.

It may be something with the connectivity with your V20. I apologize, I am not well versed in these types of issues, but I would recommend contacting your service provider to see if anything is up. Also, LG's online customer service is very good - they usually respond to emails quite promptly (they did for me, anyway!). Maybe they'll be able to give you some tips and tricks. Good luck, and keep us posted!

Same here, but I just chalked it up to the fact that I have always thought chrome is slow.

Try this. Make sure location services are set to battery saver. Then turn your WiFi off then on. If it speeds up then you are being hit with the same thing a few of us have had. Report it to Verizon. They took out the Smart WiFi switch. They think smart WiFi may be the issue. As long as you are on WiFi keep it on battery saver. As long as an app doesn't turn location services back to high accuracy (which you don't need on WiFi anyway) you will be good. Once in a great while you may have to turn WiFi off and on or check that it's still in battery saver.

Well I tried that and it certainly makes the difference in the download speed as well as web browsing.

It can be a nuisance. There are certain apps that switch you to high accuracy when they ask for permissions. I posted about this issue in another thread. I actually had a good tech support guy. I was on the phone 45 minutes while he called LG and escalated it with his supervisors and LG supervisors. They replaced my first phone because they said it might be hardware but they needed to discuss putting the smart WiFi switch back in the settings. Apparently there are some known Android issues with smart WiFi and certain routers, mainly the 5g type.

I just spent more time with Verizon tech support on this. They are getting more and more of these reports and they are working with LG to get a fix for this.

This will prevent me buying this phone. Sounds like a total pita. Dies it happen in firefox too? I don't use chrome. I actually hate chrome on computer too.

I've started using Pyrope browser. It seems fast and may help alleviate some of the pain of giving up the Samsung browser. It's been a while since I've used an app that runs as poorly as chrome does on this phone. Don't know what's going on there

Browsing is lightning fast for me in Chrome. Haven't bothered with any other browsers but I do have Puffin...might give it a shot.

It has nothing to do with browsers. Not everyone has the issue. It is WiFi related. Most likely it is an issue with Smart WiFi and location services or 5g (other phones have had this which is why a switch is normally in the settings). I have never preorderd a phone and not had bugs. It's the price you pay for not waiting. It isn't really a pita either. Just keep it on battery saver unless you need gps. Pretty simple. While it is a known issue it isn't wide spread at the moment.

I am using 5Ghz WiFi but do have location services set to battery saver (I'm not navigating anywhere now so don't need GPS).
