Yeah, I'm the one that tipped that. The contest is basically giving away 4 Xooms, and the winner can pick them up at the radio station, but they forfeit their prize if they don't pick it up within 14 days. It doesn't say you have to wait 14 days or anything like that. Also, in the details, it says that the approximate value is $500, which I thought was interesting, but could mean absolutely nothing. (for the record, I still don't see Verizon offering any kind of contract price with the Xoom, since it goes against how they market their tablet plans as "no obligation")
I honestly just thought it was amazing that Motorola is giving out 4 Xooms in a radio contest, and we really don't even know the official release date. I mean, it's gotta be really close.
Why in the world would the release be "end of February, possibly pushed to March" (as Jha said in the earnings call) if there were like 8 units at the Google event yesterday, at least 4 floating around at the Super Bowl, and who knows how many countless others in the hands of major developers that were at the Google event?
Honestly, it sounds like it's gonna be out next week, definitely not next month.
