Variable 90hz display issue

I read this article on Droid Life. It looks like 90hz on the screen will only kick on with screen brightness at 75% or above unless forced in developer options or in an odd combination with Ambient EQ turned on.

Sounds about right. They did say variable. I know if I got one I'd be setting it to 90 all the time.

I forced it always on through developer settings and love it!
