Perhaps I'm not reading/interpreting this correctly. I am an existing Verizon customer and will be adding the S6 to a line I currently have on my Verizon plan. The phone being replaced is not under contract with Verizon. Can I trade in a working smartphone and receive $200 from Verizon....or is it less?
Thanks!

A CSR at Big Red explained to me that you'll get $100 trade credit and another $100 if you buy the S6 with their Edge financing. She said that everybody gets the full $100 as long as the phone works, but the fine print says the final value will be determined upon receipt of the old device. I'd go with the fine print.

I did the trade in any smartphone for $100 gift card. Of course the trade in must be in good condition and working. I'll also get a $100 bill credit for porting in my number from h20 wireless. I believe you can get more for the trade in if its a galaxy s4 or 5, otherwise its just $100. Not bad since I traded in a old LG tracfone for the $100 gift card.

That's not correct. It's $100 minimum for trading in a working smartphone, then another $100 only if you are bringing over a line from another carrier.

We will also give you a $100 bill credit for each smartphone line you switch to Verizon Wireless and activate on Verizon Edge.

You are correct oscarnyc, as a current Verizon customer I would only get the $100 for a trade on of my old but working razr maxx. And the $100 is a Verizon Gift card, not really of great interest to me unless it could be used toward the monthly bill. My guess is that it will be good only for accessories.

you will be able to use it to pay your bill

I have a small watermark in the middle of the screen on one of my older phones that I'd like like to trade in. Does anybody know if Verizon will have any issues with this? It's really only visible when the screen is off.

That's tough one. They do ask if the screen is damaged in any way. I was going to trade in my Droid x2 but it's all scratched up. Still works, but I didn't want to risk it. But If its not too bad I'd go ahead. and give it a try.

Does anyone know if current edge customers can still trade in their s5 even though they haven't paid off a certain % of the device yet or haven't reached a certain time frame to be eligible to trade in a phone to get a different phone?

You have to pay off 75% of the S5 before you can edge up. Or pay off the remaining balance and start again with S6. You can't edge up unless 75% is paid off. Used to be 50% then 60% its now 75% Unless you got the s5 under one of the earlier 50%, or 60% then its 50% or 60% before you can edge up.

Oh ok. Thanks for the clarification. Basically, if I understand correctly, this promo is for anyone not on any edge or contract agreement, or if they've already fulfilled the requirements to edge up.

I think I signed up for edge when it was a 60% pay off requirement to edge up. I was told I can edge up after a year, so that would be a certain time this June.

You can edge up anytime after 30 days. You don't have to wait a year. Just payoff the 60% in one lump, then edge up to the s6

Verizon pays $150 for upgrade and $200 new contract for trade in of any working smartphones. just traded my old motorolla star-wars for $200 and was offered the same for my galaxy S4, which i decided to try to sell first for more. Now my question is this: since i already signed up for edge with verizon last week and did NOT trade-in my galaxy S4 then, is too late to do that now for $200?

My parents have Tmobile and in mid April I traded my S5 in and they gave me $250 for it. However it might be lower now.
