verizon: 4GLTE blinking?

I know there are up/down arrows under the 4G in the status bar. They usually indicate data traffic up/down to the VZ network.

But I just noticed that the actual 4G(LTE) above those arrows was blinking. Seemingly random, not in a strict pattern. Does anyone know what that indicates???

Haven't noticed it? Hmm

What I have noticed is slow(er) lackluster LTE performance than that of my iPhone 7 Plus. Only getting ~10mb/down where my iPhone would've been faster.
