Ok well I rooted my phone yesterday, installed MIUI rom with whatever kernel its running stock. Glad to be rid of all that crap Verizon forces on ya except for backup assist I like using it. Plus at this point in time its the only way to get my contacts back. Does anyone know where I might be able to download it.

A second question I have is I paid and downloaded setcpu to overclock my phone but if I do it causes my phone to keep rebooting so I have to keep it at 1g. Anyone else have this problem or know why its happening perhaps?

So basically I'm screwed on getting my contacts back unless I reload my backup. That f-ing blows considering I root my phone and still can't use what apps I want and the apps I don't, I'm at the mercy of the rom grrrr!

This is the thing about rooting and ROM flashing. Don't do it unless you know what you're doing. While annoying, restoring your most recent stock nandroid and backing up your contacts to google isn't that bad.

And like upstream said, different kernels respond differently to over/underclocking. Try using a different kernel.

In your contacts hit menu and save them to your sdcard. then delete them all.. Restore them back to your phone but click to google instead of phone

Here's the .zip. Just flash it with clockwork. I'm using it on Incred Reengineered right now and have used it on Myn's warm 2.2. both worked without a hitch.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help given to me. I tell ya what I'm liking Android better just because of the people associated! When I owned my BB's and went to crackberry.com the people there were asses straight up!

Oh I suppose i two more questions so I'll ask em here instead of starting a new thread.

First is I'm now running uncommon sense Rom, again with whatever is stock kernel for it(miui crashed on me three times not sure why it did, but decided to heck with it) and every so often while doing things with the phone a screen pops up saying something about framework not responding and it force closes it. I believe the file name was something like, com.Google.proccess.gapps I've noticed it pops up if I tell the phone to sync to calendar also.

Second question is I woke up this morning and it said there was an update for my phone. I'm assuming its from Verizon and has something to do with the stock sense UI and Android how do I stop it from popping up telling me to download it.
