I had purchased easytether back in October last year and it worked like a charm....

I had to do a hard reset the other day and now have gone back in to reinstall it and can't.

In fact, it doesn't show in the market if I look via my Dinc.

I can see it via the PC when viewing the market, but it will not allow me to install it to this phone.

Anyone have any ideas where I can get the full version apk?

I paid for it and now it appears I am out...

Are you sure it is Verizon blocking it? I had a similar experience with paid apps and realized that I had bought some apps under one of my Google accounts and some under another. When I do a hard reset (or install another ROM), the market gets connected to whichever account you set up first. If you bought apps under a different "primary account", they won't show up in the market - though you may be able to see them on the app store website if you're logged into the account you purchased them under.

Could that be what happened to you?

But for future reference, do a backup with Astro and it'll save all your apks to SD.

I just looked in the market on my phone and searched for it and it's no longer there. There is AndroidTether, but EasyTether is gone.

Weird, I can't see it on my phone either, but I can see it in Android Market web site

Nope.... I am connected to the proper account.

The app is in the market, it is just "not available" for my Verizon phone. I can see it in the market when I view it through my PC. when I select it and the phone menu comes up, the HTC Incredible is grey'd out and can not be selected.

So.... unless I can find an apk of the lite version.... I am out ten bucks...

Stings a bit...

Work around to get tether apps

I found out on another site that if you turn airplane mode on and wifi on you can still get any tether app from the market even if blocked. Tried it and it works
Enjoy,

You can download the light version directly from their website. Link above.

Indeed one can....

don't know how I missed that.... downloaded the PC software and completely missed the phone apk there...

Big Thanks....

Installed and works fine!

WiFi Tether

The real truth is that the little green icon WiFi Tether is gone from the Market.
And turning on Airplane Mode with WiFi doesn't produce it, either. Where'd that
supposed cure come from anyway?
Phone carriers pressured Google into pulling the WiFi Tether App from their Market.
If you want it, download the APK now, then install with an installer from
the Market. Save that APK on a hard drive in case it becomes unavailable
to download.
It's one great little App, and a shame that it's been pulled.
I have a VZN data plan, and feel ZERO guilt pangs by using the program.

Easy Tether

Hi,

I'm fairly new to smartphones, have an HTC Droid Incredible which I've had for two months. You can go to amazon.com and purchase the Easy Tether app for $9.99 from the app category. Mine works like a charm! I also purchased from amazon.com (you guessed it!) the: OEM HTC TV Out Cable for HTC DROID Incredible and it's a quality product. Now I stream content from the phone to my tv. I also plug in the phone via a side port to keep it charging at the same time. Sure, it's not perfect, but is a cheap way to watch what you want for FREE. Also, I have the Netflix app on my Droid Incredible and pick what I want to watch, hook up to the tv and voila!

I hope Verizon and the others won't spoil this for all of us. I know Verizon will let you do this, but hey, they want an extra $20 a month for this. Nix that idea! :D
