so i went into my local verizon store yesterday to see about getting a 'bolt. they made me an appointment on thursday afternoon post-work and told me they would hold one for me. but then the woman told me (a) that they didn't know what the price was and (b) that i would be paying an undisclosed amount and would then get some form of mail in rebate. this all seemed odd to me since (a) verizon confirmed the 249.00 2 yr contract price before i went in to talk to them and (b) if the price is established, how can they charge me more and tell me to wait for a rebate? anyone have any info on this??

i also thought that when the iPhone was released, verizon made some sort of announcement that they wouldnt be doing mail in rebates on devices anymore.

if its a corp store it will be 249.99, an verizon has done away with mail in rebates to beat out best buy instant rebate stuff.....

someone correct me if im wrong. if they try to charge more, id ask wat the 5 fingers say to the face. SLAP!

That's what I thought too. Weren't rebates eliminated about the same time they narrowed the device return window?

when i told her that my understanding was they eliminated rebates she said, "online. not in store." this seems shady to me. and, well, just WRONG.

UNITY!!!

gonna call them and talk to a manager this afternoon.

i wish i had more hands so i could give my verizon store four thumbs down!!

Every time I go into a vzw store I have a terrible experience. I'll be ordering online

(glad to hear there are no more rebates, didnt know about that)

I think what they were saying, if you have a NE2 credit on their books that you would pay the pric of the phone ($249) and you would have to mail in your rebate (NE2 credit). Before they would credit your NE2 rebate instantly and you would just pay the difference. I know when I replaced my kids phones in Dec I had to pay upfront and send in the rebate form and I got a gift card back in the amount of my rebate. I still have a NE2 credit on my current phone and plan on using that along with one of the gift cards I received earlier to pay for my TB.

I am pretty sure that isnt right. They stopped doing the mail in rebates, and I have ALWAYS been able to apply my NE2 credit instantly.

They might not know the price until they receive the shipment. I believe Bennnnn said something very similar. I don't know why they just would not receive a corporate email about this.

Spoke to someone from corp customer care this am and be said that it will be 249 and that there may or may not be an additional incentive. They would not have that info from marketing until the release.

So it seems at the most it will be 249 but maybe, hopefully there will be some kind of instant rebate for the launch.

I think that if it's an authorized retailer rather than a corporate store they can try to sell the phone for as much as they can get.

NE2 credits are always instant. Since there's no more MIR I'm not sure what they're saying to you.

I've never had a bad experience at a verizon store, but I agree with you when you say that you would prefer to order online. I just find it so much more simpler to order it online. Also I do not mind the two day wait.
