Hey all,

Got my wife an iPhone 4S a while ago and she really doesn't like it too much. So I'm trying to convince her to let me sell the 4S and get her an Android phone because a lot of the complaints she has about the 4S's operating system are easily fixed with ICS/JB, especially if she lets me unlock and root the phone. Beyond the conversion of all her iTunes music to DRM free (easy to do) her big sticking point is the camera. She loves the camera on her iPhone and I've spent too much time complaining about the camera on my Galaxy Nexus for her to believe that she would like it.

My challenge is to find her a Verizon compatible phone that has a camera that is good, doesn't have to be as good as the 4S but has to be significantly better than the GNEX, that I can get used for about $350 which is what I anticipate being able to sell her gently used iPhone for. Solid battery life would be nice since I don't see her putting up with a bulky extended battery like I do with my GNEX.

Asking a lot, I know, but any recommendations? I think she'd love the Galaxy SIII, but that's a bit pricey at the moment.

The Rezound has a camera comparable to the G3 (say some). Still not as nice as the iPhone but close.
I was looking at the Nexus, Razr and Rezound back in January and the camera had to be the best in Verizons lineup of android phones and the Rezound was the best camera at the time, but I would take a look at the new HTC Incredible 4 which is supposed to have a great camera. I kinda like the smaller form factor to. I would go into a store that has working displays tomorrow when the G3 comes out and test the camera on the Rezound, Galaxy SIII and the Incredible 4...Either wat,the G3 is pretty sweet though!!

Personally the Rezound's camera is the standard to beat on Verizon right now. But other factors you mentioned have to be factored in too. The Rezound might be too bulky(especially if you add the extended battery). The DINC 4G LTE is way lighter and more compact. Plus it's camera shares the same software as the Rezounds' so it should be just as good. Either phone should be much less expensive than the SGS3, especially the Rezound since its older.

You know, the Rezound sounds like a great phone at a great price. Its got the primo camera and even better sound quality and a kickass screen AND falls nicely within the price range I set up (might even have money left over after selling the 4S. The phone is so nice, I'd be jealous of it if my GNEX didn't have a nice jelly bean rom on it.

The Incredible 4G looks good too, but its more expensive and there are no used version available.

Now to see if I can get her to accept the Rezound (and let me unlock/root it haha).

Thanks everyone!

I believe the s3 uses a similar camera to the iPhone 4s. I think the verge and phone scoop gave the camera a good review too. A quote I remember is the s3 has a camera to take pictures and video of your wedding that you will enjoy to look at

Rezound has the best camera on Verizon hands down. I played with the S3 and I think there is no comparison here. Rezound is better...but enough for you to sacrifice performance on all other stats on the phone? No, get the S3.

Doesn't the DROID Incredible 4G LTE have the same camera as the Rezound?

(Though it might be tough to get at $350)
