Verizon Dumping CDMA Finally

Verizon disables wifi calling on phones unless they are purchased from them or is a certified verizon phone. You can use an unlocked phone with VZW as I do, but wifi calling will not work.

I've had WiFi calling working with the 6P, Pixel XL and 2 XL none purchased from Verizon. This was corrected on Google devices a couple years ago.

I have no settings on my 6P to activate wifi calling. I can call out with wifi by using the hangouts dialer, but can't receive calls by wifi using the google phone app or hangouts dialer. Can you explain how to receive calls by wifi using the 6P on Verizon. I have been advised that VZW will not enable wifi calling on the 6P since they did not sell this phone. Please describe how to activate wifi calling on my 6P.

IIRC it's a setting in the provisioning menu using the dialer codes. I know several people with older devices that also use the Verizon Messenger+ app to make wifi calls.

I use the Verizon Messages app and wifi calling is not an option on the 6p. I find no evidence that there is any way to enable wifi calling on the 6p on verizon. See link below. I would appreciate it if you could describe how to enable it or provide a link.

Interesting, I thought the no carrier phones from Samsung was supposed to have all the features since on Samsung phones, all you have to do is flash the CSC for Verizon and it will work as the phones are all the same hardware wise for the carrier models, only the CSC is different which will enable the wifi calling. AT&T's WiFi calling is more tricky.

It has to be approved by the carrier still in order to work. Samsung does include the feature but they don't control the network aspect of it.
