Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

The Nexus 1 is a tank compared to your Nexus.
From what read that tank had a screen that wasn't that good. Also a weak processor lol ... What makes the Nexus so appealing is ICS and pure Google. I think if the Echo was the next Nexus People would love it lol ... I would like if Sammy went high Quality build and used another material other than plastic but its not going to stop me if they make this phone their way. If i can get this phone on Sprint and it comes in a reasonable amount if time I'll get it. If not then Nexus4 what are your specs...:)

Absolutely right. If Sprint ever gets one of those HTC phones built like that, I'll be all over it. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem likely

my main concern, is that if it's on verizon, that they will try to pull some tricks to get them to load the typical VZW Bloatware and try to get them to lock the bootloader (good luck with that, verizon)

Then it wouldn't be a Nexus phone.

Remember, the reason why Google makes Nexus phones is to promote new iterations of software (in this case, Ice Cream Sandwich) and make the phones available to developers to test out their applications on. If they lock the bootloader of a Nexus phone, it will make it irrelevant to a developer.

If anything, Verizon wouldn't allow or would just reject a Nexus phone on their network (they did it with the N1, remember). But Phil says it's coming, so I'm hoping he's right. And if it comes, it will not be locked down.

They said next nexus is coming to tmobile or sprint. Sprint would be great as they just announced their switch to lte and are the only company with true unlimited data which suits well with the google motto.

they will more then likely reject it, day by day i really think verizon caters to the "new smartphone users" which, to them they could care less if the phone was rooted or not, they just want a working communication device (and in some instances an excuse to "look cool"). who knows, Verizon will be high on my respect list if they do.

played with the nexus s before, kind of like it, and you are right, what means them great if you don't have to root them...it's sort of bone stock as it is :P

but, maybe not, maybe they WON't load the bloatware on it, i know Sprint didn't with the nexus s, (being a nascar fan on sprint phones, the nascar app is probably the only one i wouldn't delete)

They didn't load up the iphone with bloat. Just saying people are basing assumptions off of things in the past. Moto is the only ones who locks their phones it isn't verizon and also the nexus one was only available through google which carriers aren't making money that way which is why they went with the inc rather than the nexus 1. If Phil says it's coming to verizon he usually has a good source to base it off of

Sounds good with the exception of the 4.6 in screen. That's way too big for my mobile interests. Bummer.

Even if the phone is the same size, physically as a current 4.3 inch phone? Don't forget, that extra size is coming from the lack of hardware buttons.

I agree, even the size of a current 4.3" phone is too big for a Nexus. I don't want the physical dimensions to ne bigger than the other Nexus phones

I want (unrealistically) the Nexus Prime to be:

1. The same size and shape as the current Nexus S...BUT...
2. Have a screen that takes the entire front of the device (like Nokia N9)
3. No capacitive buttons
4. Gorilla Glass
5. "Retina" display
6. 1.5+ ghz dual-core
7. 1.5 GB RAM
8. 2000 mAh battery
9. NFC
10. 1080p rear camera
11. Wi-fi direct instead of bluetooth

Why not? It isn't likely though. The Bluetooth thing isn't either, but other than that I think everything else in that list is pretty possible

In that case, why not go 2GB? Mainly because it adds cost and power draw without any real-world benefit.

Can they cram 2gb into phone? If so, then, sure why not. You may start to see that real world benefit soon, so it would be just future proofing a bit

OMG kate lol, the emperors voice from the robot chicken star wars episode when he was on the phone with darth vader just got into my head when you said that. If you haven't watched it you must and you will know the reference. Now back to your regularly scheduled Prime conversation.

Well, I am still holding out for a stock ICS HTC phone. A metal unibody Nexus Prime/3 with ICS 4.0, 720p 4.6" screen, 1 GB RAM, 1.5 Ghz Dual Core, DLNA, and NFC, is my dream phone! And why not throw in the EVO 3D's camera button in there for good measure haha.

The Nexus S is a nice phone, but I do have some problems with it, the lack of SD Card support, and no Led notification light (like others have posted, it is really is handy to have), and the way the haptic feedback when typing a text feels compared to my HTC Legend. It makes the phone feel less solid, kind of more light and airy, that's the way it feels to me at least.

The SGSII is an amazing phone, and yeah I would buy one if I didn't have 2 years left on my contract (3 year contracts in Canada ugh), but it feels a little awkward by being so thin and so wide at the same time, it doesn't fill out into my hand at all, and it is also too light in my opinion (I know Samsung wanted to blow everyone away though, with a big screen, super thin, and super light). I want something substantial in my hand, not a wafer. Put all the specs I mentioned in the EVO 3D's shell, and you've got the best phone for me (maybe not for everyone though of course).

I am guessing one of the main reasons Google went with Sammy again is because of their screens, which really are the best of any smartphone OEMs right now.

If HTC doesn't come out with a stock ICS phone though, then I'll be picking up the Prime somehow!

If this phone does not have a 4.3" or larger screen, I will pass on it. Personally I believe a 4.6" screen without buttons would be perfect.

Heck I would take a 5" screen if the phone will still fit in the tool pocket of carpenters pants. Of course I am old enough to remember when cell phones came in a bag and used a car battery.
