Hey Everyone,

I know Europe and most places run on GSM. But with the growth of LTE will the Verizon GNEX ever go International? I know that Verizon has made a bunch of its LTE phones global capable. Wondering about the Verizon GNEX. If not official is there an unoffical way to do it?

Thanks!

The Verizon Galaxy Nexus can roam internationally with Verizon's carrier partners, but it will not do GSM, and considering the differences in international frequencies for LTE, you likely won't be able to find a carrier that'll fully work with the LTE either.

Even if you did find a carrier overseas that had the same frequencies for LTE and could provision a SIM for you, you'd only get data and no voice or text because they haven't implemented VoLTE.

Long story short, if you want to go international, buy a GSM phone.

Exactly what Andrew said.

I came from NYC to Switzerland. I bought a GSM Galaxy Nexus from the Google Play store and wow, it was sure worth it. I went to Swisscom, got a prepaid card for 20 bucks. I slid that bad boy into my phone and I was using my Galaxy Nexus all over Switzerland.
