What does one have to do with the other? I can't imagine that many people switching from VZ to ATT just to get the phone a week or so earlier. VZ essentially has nothing to lose by making us wait.

Because he/she said AT&T gets theirs on the 6th - so they were asking if Verizon would get them too.
Man, things are getting testy on this board. I can't wait for the phone to come out as much as the next man, but let's all remember that we are all pulling for the same thing.... The earliest possible release of the SG3.

I understand that but they're completely different companies so what one does doesn't necessarily affect the other one. Whatever. I still don't see the relevant connection.
Well there is more correlation than you think.
Much of the reason for the pushed release dates was because of lack of stock.
This is ATT now says they have stock, you can assume that Verizon probably has theirs.
Many people have confirmed that ATT, Sprint were both waiting for a certain amount in order to ship things out.

I went into t mobile today and tried out one of their demos...very impressed! (but that water drop sound HAS TO GO.) I will say...the sales guy had no clue what he was talking about. He tried to tell me...repeatedly...that all other carriers were selling their gs3 for $329 just like they were. I gave up and got outta there. Would have been nice to try it without him hovering over me the whole time.
Just talked my best friends dad who works for Verizon, he said as of today he has been told they will be available in stores on the 12th. So most likely our phones will ship on July 9th. And unlike the link above his store still hasn't been trained on the device so he said with a big grin in his face.

No problem, I figured it was something screwy with copy and paste. The Thunderbolt, I had one and retired it for the Galaxy Nexus, now waiting on the GS3 so I can retire my Nexus!
I'm not looking for an argument here but just because ATT and Sprint got shipments does not mean that Verizon 's reason for not shipping yet is the same. Assumptions are meaningless. "Many people" is completely ambiguous as well.
<and now back to our regularly scheduled discussion>
This thread should just be locked and everyone should accept the 9th date. Things are getting a little heated..
