Verizon GS5 Developer Edition Updates

I am looking into getting the developer edition from samsung.com for an upgrade to my Verizon account. Could anybody comment about if the developer edition devices gets the same updates (android version numbers, security updates) in the same time frame or at all even along with the carrier version.

Thanks to anybody that could let me know what happens on their devices.
