Verizon is changing the game

Ah, I found it on AOSP. With the rumors of bugs going around, maybe the source for the LTE version just isn't ready to release?

I know I'm reaching here, but I gotta hope there will be some sliver of Nexus on a Nexus.

Here's some kindling for your fire, neither of which is speculation.

The Galaxy Nexus LTE is not supported by the AOSP project.
Verizon has the ability to block phones with OEM unlocked bootloaders from their network.

Now you have something to worry about.

Yowsers, never knew that one. Have they acted on that, that you're aware of?

I agree.. everyone else will see the Nexus as another 'brand', whereas we know it as more of a symbol of openness and developing.

As for the bootloader thing, both HTC and Motorola have opened up about it and have released ways to unlock the bootloader..... for everyone but Verizon. The Rezound built by HTC (all new phones have the unlockability) does NOT have a htcdev unlockable bootloader. Even though HTC stated all phones would.
Motorola has much the same thing except they use the fastboot tech and they still locked it on Verizon...

I know its pure speculation but it wouldn't be a huge surprise.

Correct me if I'm wrong but all OEMs have no issues with locking bootloaders & offered to unlock their phones before release, however it would only be done @ the carriers request. As it happens, the only one to snub their nose at that is VzW. They are ready, willing & waiting, but VzW is not playing nice w/ their toys.

I can't source something that doesn't exist. There is no mention of the Galaxy Nexus LTE at the AOSP site, because it's not a supported device. The only supported phone with the current release is the GSM/HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus, a.k.a. "maguro".

Thats crazy! How does that happen? Why would the gsm version be supported and the cdma version not?

It's a different model from the global one (well obviously). JBQ has said he believes the LTE one (aka "toro") will hit AOSP once it's released, but he can't be certain.
