Verizon LG G2 - Clear notification for voicemail?

I am not sure if this is a verizon thing, but it keeps showing in notifications I have 12 voicemails, which is not true, I also dialed into my voicemail and turned off notification in the personal options.

Does anyone know how to get rid of notifications permanently? Or at least be able to clear it from notifications?

If the phone app thinks you have new voice mail, it will not let you dismiss the notification. Did you try rebooting the phone?

I cleared it, after multiple tries of calling myself leaving voicemail, clearing voicemail, and multiple phone reboots.

Not sure what really did it..but it gone for now

It's annoying that you can't dismiss the voice mail notification without listening to the voice mail.

In the future, after listening to your voicemails and deleting/saving/whatever you want to do with them, wait a few seconds and press the star key until the woman says "Thank you, and good bye". That usually works for me.
