Just like the title says. Top 1/2 of the device gets uncomfortably warm. I've been using it for 3 hrs nonstop, so maybe this gets better with time. My Note 2 got warm, but never hot. Anyone else?

Anybody else notice this. I was just browsing the web for about 10 minutes and it got very warm/ almost hot.

Can't say I'm finding that. I know my GS3 got very hot at times, especially when trying to lock on to a signal. So far my G2 has been much better.

This phone gets nowhere near as hot as my previous phone.
I use my phone every Friday in the following way. I use nav/traffic and tunein radio pro for a 3 hour drive.
My previous phone (GNex) would get so hot (over 44C according to CPU-Z) that it would start slowing down. It would slow to a crawl and stutter. It would also stop charging because of the heat.
Yesterday was the G2's turn to take this trip. It sailed through without a hiccup. The warmest that the phone got was 36C. Much cooler than the GNex and it never seemed to slow down. I have the phone set to not lock when plugged in.

Got mine yesterday morning and used it all day, playing around, setting it up, downloading apps and I can't say I noticed it getting hot, or even warm. I have to admit that I'm coming from an iPhone 4s that would get so hot it was actually uncomfortable to hold, so I may be a bit "desensitized". Regardless, it's an improvement for me.

Mine gets warm during normal web browsing. Not super hot, but definitely warm.

Actually last night i was in a warm room and i was browsing the web for like 10 mins straight; when i tried to turn up the screen brightness using the toggle from the notifications area, i got an error message saying that i could not increase the brightness because my phone's temperature was too high.

Wow...I wonder if we got lemons. Perhaps its running the CPU too much...

Battery has been subpar for me too. Worse than a 6 mo note 2 by far. I'm going to swap mine out today.

2 weeks. Well, I replaced my phone e today and the new one is noticeably cooler...especially running quadrant. The old one would burn my hands off after running that, but this one stays below hot...warm. Its def much better...also score 3k higher in quadrant...go figure.

Edit: spoke too soon...this one gets hot too. :(

Searching google for "LG G2 runs hot" brings up this post and 1 other random comment. I've seen a couple other folks post about how warm theirs gets as well. Is this really not a big deal for people or are you guys just used to phones like the Gnex? I just made a phone call and the top of the phone warming my ear is balls. I guess that's what bt headsets are for. :D

My Gnex under load would get almost too hot to touch. My Razr Maxx HD gets warm, sometimes hot, but usually warm and thats through a rubberized back. Honestly, with the processors in these tiny thin little phones, they're just going to warm up when they're doing a lot of thinking. You can always drill vent holes through the back of your phone if you'd like... on that note, has there been a vented phone yet?

I think it's just that most phones do the same thing. Heavy duty processors, large batteries, large screen and a small space to try to vent all this heat.

MY G2 doesn't get nearly as hot as my GNex did, and I'm using the hell out of it.

Well, the gnex was an abomination.

But I just can't go back to the Note 2 anymore. The G2 is so much easier to handle/type on.

If the Gnex was an abomination, so was the GS3. Mine was hot enough to fry an egg.

I like my GNex, it worked well for me for a long time.

Yeah, but you said that happens especially when searching for a signal. Unless phones vary as much as we like to think they do and I won the lottery.

I just can't help but be disappointed with the G2 as its easily twice as hot, if not moreso than my previous phone. Honestly, my fingers get sweaty. :(

All that power also leads to a phone that's hot to the touch. Not egg-cooking hot, but hot enough.
