Verizon LG G2 - Smart screen too sensitive

When I turned smart screen option on, it won't turn off automatically even though I was NOT watching the screen.

I put the phone on the desk front side up, and I was working about 3 feet distance. But the screen never turn off.
I guess it's due to smart screen option.
When I turn this option off, the screen turned off well after some time.

I have the LG G2, and I can confirm that the Smart Screen is definitely not the best feature on the phone.. I just disable it, since it doesn't really work. The phone has many great features, but this one isn't one of them.
