I am in the beginning stages of planning a trip to Central America (Guatemala to be exact). I'm not planning to call back to the US much but I anticipate calling and texting local numbers. I've verified that both major carriers have micro sim cards (Claro and Tigo are the carriers) and I'd like to know if anyone can tell me whether or not the Verizon M8 will work on either or both. Not sure of the phone's GSM abilities and I'd rather not use the VZW international plan since I'll be making local calls and $1.99 a minute for local calling is not exactly attractive to me.
