Verizon messages group chat trouble

Hey guys, as the topic says I'm having trouble with this app. Actually its any app I try to use for group messaging when I try to send the message it hangs on sending for 10-20 mins before failing... Is there a fix to this? I've tried my settings and making vz messages my default but to no avail.
