Thanks. Yeah, I was almost certain I had checked all settings including that one, but I think I somehow missed it.

In testing it out just now, this setting sort of sucks, because it overrides individual popup settings for each notification. It shows the popup for every message you receive via the app, whether you toggle popup on or not for individuals in the notification/personalization settings.

Verizon Messages+ is intended to be used by anyone, regardless of carrier. Sort of like BBM was intended to be used regardless of handset. For bloatware, it's pretty good.

It's good, especially if recipients are also using Messages+ but I found the likelihood of that even less than with Google Messages. At least with GM, you can have RCS capabilities, and more Android users are likely to use it. People outside of Verizon rarely seemed to want to even try it.
