Verizon Messaging

OK. I have been using Samsung phones and tablets for years. No real issues. I have also been using VZW message+ for years. No real issues, even when switching to new devices. Once I got the S21 ultra, the problem began. I cannot get the messaging to sync with my tablet. It continues with my Z Fold 3. I have tried working with VZW and the app people but no one seems to know what to do to fix it. Both the S21 and the fold are unlocked but with VZW Sims. I have tried to go back to the old tablet where it worked and it doesn't work there any more either. Could it be the unlocked phone? Anyone know what I can do to get this to work again?
 
OK I'm a bit confused, can you be more clear on what devices you are trying to link?

Are both the S21 Ultra and Fold 3 active on different phone numbers? Or are you trying to link them together?

If you aren't trying to link those 2 devices what tablets are you referring to?
 
You enable call and text on other devices? Go settings>advanced features>toggle on Screenshot_20210915-211311_Settings.jpg
 
I am using the Fold 3 as the primary device. Message+ works fine on it. I am linking a tab s7+ it doesn't work. I can send messages from the tab to anyone. Replies only come to the phone. When I link my old tablet, tab S3, same thing happens. This also occurred with the S21+ Ultra. Both phones are unlocked. The tablets are not. I had no issues with my older unlocked phone, Note9.

I am wondering if it is because they are unlocked versions and not "true " Verizon devices.

The issue with VZW appears to have been ongoing across multiple devices since at least 2019. App developers need to fix it. They seem apathetic about it. Not device related at all. Nice to know

Had an issue with Verizon call filter and finally got to someone with some real knowledge. He was able to contact a counterpart at Samsung and the general consensus was that Verizon Apps do not play well with unlocked Samsung phones. Some will and some wont its hit or miss. The most notorious was visual voicemail, but that seems to work OK for me. It's trial and error - Samsung is aware (at some level) and VZW tech support (at the higher levels) is aware. Hope this helps
