Verizon misinformation?

I agree that the pre is a girls phone. You could of looked at the pixi too, that sounds manly ;p You would need girly fingers to use the physical keyboard on either of those phones.

Ive never had problems with dropped calls on my droid. This isnt the iPhone.

I've got big german-field-laborer thick man hands, and even I can use the physical keyboard on both of those phones. Pre with some difficulty, Pixi with speed and accuracy. It is no Droid keyboard, for sure.

But back on topic, i've had 1 or 2 dropped calls, but with no pattern, and usually im in some obscure location.

First off why are you even listening to a sales person in first place - do your own research and decide what YOU want walk into the store and buy it. Second if you must actually ask a sales person anything ask them about returns "Do you see a lot of these being returned?" They will probably lie to you because it's not their job to make any one particular model look bad but if you are good at reading people there will be clues that will give away the truth. Did they hesitate "uhhhhhhhhh not really" did they scrunch their face up, did they sound fake when they told you "no". However you should already know the answer because you researched it yourself.

Thirdly are you really that insecure that you already decided what freaking phone you wanted but you walked into a store and asked people if "it was a girls phone?" The Pre is a much more simplistic device when compared to other smart phones on the market. I think the simplistic aspect combined together with the ability to do a few more things better then a dumb phone probably attracts a lot of women - but their is a lot of female droid users as well. I jumped to a Pre from a Touch Pro and lamented the fact. While the Pre had much better eye candy and was easier to use it left a lot to be desired - after a month I was wishing for a new device and seriously considering going back to the Touch Pro - thankfully I jumped to Android. However if it's the phone that you want and that you think you will be happy with then just get it - stop worrying about if it's a girls phone or not because it's not.

The Droid does not require a lot of customization - you can customize the hell out of it if you are inclined to do so. However if you just pulled it out of the box and never even changed any of the widgets or shortcuts it would operate just fine for the rest of it's life. It will give you a lot more options then the pre as far as changing things - there are no shortcuts or widgets for the Pre. Setting up shortcuts and widgets on the droid is super easy and does not require a lot of "tweaking".

As far as reception issues neither my wife or I have had any issues.

Also note there is the Eris too if you would like Android. It's a solid piece of hardware - just a little underpowered.

I haven't had any issues whatsoever and I've had the DROID since day 1. And don't think for one second that the Verizon rep isn't on commission. The reality is that incentives are placed out there for selling different devices as kind of an added bonus for selling them. So the rules should always be:

1) Never listen to a Verizon rep...they don't know anything
2) Never listen to your girlfriend...their brains are 1/3 the size of ours...it's science.

i have had both the storm1 and the storm2. both of em are pieces of garbage, once i got my droid i never looked back. the android os is by far waaaaaaay better than anything that RIM has pushed on their followers. i love my droid and would only trade it in for something else that runs on android. possibly the nexus one...whenever that makes its way to big red
