Hey..

I purchased a Nexus 6 through Motorola last month and activated on my Verizon account which was on month to month pricing (completed 2 year contract a month or two before). The wife has a Moto X 2014 and I've got the Nexus 6, only two phones on the account. She is paying the $15 monthly access (10GB plan) but they charge my Nexus 6 the full $40 per month access. I called last month and they were able to put a $25 credit on the line to correct the pricing because apparently a Nexus 6 isn't recognized in their system and cannot get the "promotional $25 credit". I called this month and now they are refusing to apply the $25 credit because it isn't a "Verizon" device. Anyone else have this issue?

You're on month to month - call the retention department and ask them to apply the credit permanently. Their sole purpose is to retain you as a customer and, since you're month to month, you can leave at any time - which they don't want.

I call in every month and they give it to me. They read all the notes from my previous calls and it has never been a problem so far.

You are lucky.. I've tried twice now and through Twitter with no luck. Last month was alright, now they are saying it wasn't "certified" for Verizon so I'm outta luck.

Swtich to AT&T. They give a discount for BYOD. I switched from Verizon to AT&T when I got my Nexus 5 because the N5 wasn't supported on Verizon's network and I was also really pissed at the way they handled the Galaxy Nexus. You aren't on a contract now and you will also be non-contract with AT&T so it doesn't cost you anything to switch or to switch back if you don't find AT&T's network satisfactory.

Same exact thing happened to me. I am month to month, my wife is on Edge with a Moto X. I switched to the Nexus 6 from the LG G2 in November and lost the monthly $25 statement credit. I called and they said that they could not apply the discount to a non-Verizon device. So pissed, I may switch to AT&T.

It is stupid, I'm hoping that they release the Nexus 6 in the next month or two and this will work itself out.

I tired to point out to them in their own press release (MORE Everything - MORE Everything Plan) that it says that it only requires a Verizon "compatible" device (I assume the Nexus 6 is compatible as I've been using it for 60 days) but they don't seem to agree thus far. Their first response was "it starts April 17, 2015" so obviously they don't know what is going on since this was from 2014.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been month to month on Verizon now for a while and I wasn't sure if I'd get to keep my discount after I get a Nexus 6. Doesn't sound like it. And now that they have announced they are raising activation and upgrade fees I think I may look at TMobile instead. I'm getting tired of Verizon's s**t.

I can report back. My girlfriend, in December, upgraded to the Turbo and last month I went in with my Nexus 6 also from Motorola. We were both month to month before our changes in phones with a More Everything plan splitting 4gb of data.

She is now locked back into a 2 year contract but upon activating my Nexus I was told there would be no problem keeping my $15 month to month credit. I just paid the bill for the cycle that the changes reflected on and can confirm I did not lose my discount.

Surprisingly, there was never any mention made that I might. I was gearing up for an argument based on what I have read. I would keep trying with them. It was even a corporate store where this all took place for me.

At the very least, rumor is they will be launching it in a week or so, hopefully then they won't be such pains in the basses about it.

Oh and better yet there was no activation or upgrade fee to change out my phone and the month to month discount has remained on my bill without having to call in for it, so far. But as I said above I have had only the cycle paid for which the changes took place.

Hope the info helps!

If Verizon plans on releasing the Nexus 6 in a week or so, how come they have no mention of it on their website?

It says coming soon on their website but there have been a few publications saying stores have rec'd promotional materials and expect a launch for the 12. It's still all speculation.

I dropped VZW and went to T-Mobile due to Verizon crazy pricing. I've not been dissatisfied at all. And my bill is much lower.

For those of using the N6 on Verizon how is there phone working on their network?
When the N5 came out I almost left Verizon for AT&T due to the fact that the N5 works on the AT&T network.

I really want a Nexus phone.

So far, no complaints. Signal is decent, calls are clear and data seems fairly fast. This all based on only my use. I've done no benchmarking or comparisons to other devices/phones or anything.
