Verizon Month to Month Discount

Hey..

I purchased a Nexus 6 through Motorola last month and activated on my Verizon account which was on month to month pricing (completed 2 year contract a month or two before). The wife has a Moto X 2014 and I've got the Nexus 6, only two phones on the account. She is paying the $15 monthly access (10GB plan) but they charge my Nexus 6 the full $40 per month access. I called last month and they were able to put a $25 credit on the line to correct the pricing because apparently a Nexus 6 isn't recognized in their system and cannot get the "promotional $25 credit". I called this month and now they are refusing to apply the $25 credit because it isn't a "Verizon" device. Anyone else have this issue?
Did you try to get the discount again now that the phone is available?

Just put of curiosity did you do anything like swap the sim into your wife's phone and try to get the discount?

Has anyone has any progress with this? I got my N6 from Motorola about a month ago, got it activated on Verizon, and have been trying since to get the discount applied. Have had nothing but dead ends. I was lucky to get a $25 credit applied, but fear that they'll stop doing that next week.

This is so frustrating being told I can byod, but now not receive the discount.

Bought my nexus 6 directly from Moto. Checked out Verizon and was informed [via IMEI] my phone is not compatible with their network.

I spoke with Verizon tech support and was told that if I purchase from Motorola that I would be eligible for the byod discount. Have yet to test that out though. I have to have 64gb so moto is my only choice. Would like to hear from others as to if this will work or not

Wouldn't recommend that, nobody I've seen gets the byod discount from Motorola n6. Some have had luck with a manual credit but that isn't the case for everyone, including me.

Isn't the discount for being off contract? Shouldn't matter what device you use. Not sure how they could fight that. Any vzw workers in this thread?

Exactly, that's the way they advertise it as. But the excuse I keep getting from them is that their system has to recognize it as Verizon device and not a "NON-VZW" device as it does once the device is active on their system. And since their system doesn't see it as a Verizon device, they can't apply the discount.

Sounds like an excuse to me to not apply the discount.

I would file a complaint with the BBB if I was you.

I've even considered activating a Verizon branded device using my SIM, getting the discount applied, and then re-activating my N6. But I'm not sure if the discount would carry over to the N6 or if it would get reset.

Has anyone had any experience with this?

What does your device show up as under your account or in the My Verizon app? Where did you purchase your N6?

It shows non Verizon device under my number. In thinking about it maybe because I do have edge payments on the note 4. I'm not using it but I do have it still

Huh, where did you purchase your N6 from? At least your case gives me hope that my last ditch effort might work:
