Verizon Motorola DROID Turbo It's here!!!!

Re: It's here!!!!

what are the off contract prices?

599 for the base, so probably 649 for the 64.

Also the ballistic nylon is starting to look a lot more attractive in the videos. And why do the BN versions omit the Verizon logos? Kinda strange. But I'll take it.

Re: It's here!!!!

Gimme. Gimme gimme gimme.

I want one.
Is it Thursday yet?

Yeah that's why it's strange. Personally i don't mind the logos. But you'd think the handsets in the conference would be the final build. So who knows what to expect when you buy it.

Re: It's here!!!!

This is what prefaced the replacement line. "Next up, materials. Motorola says that $13 billion was spent by consumers last year on damaged phones."

I guess they're just trying to one up the competition on this. Unless someone has done screen replacements before? I'm sure the price includes some pro-rated screen replacement charge in it, but it's still a fairly modest price I believe.

HTC had been doing it since they introduced the M8 but only for the first six months.

I thought the '13 Moto maker x's had one free screen replacement too.

Re: It's here!!!!

I see, I guess the screen replacement is nothing new then. I hadn't heard at all about those offers. Still, it's pretty nice to have regardless.

Re: It's here!!!!

Has anyone seen if there is a notification LED? Kind of a minor detail but I'll be pretty disappointed if it doesn't have one.

No. Last year's maxx and ultra (and the moto x) didn't have one. With active display, they didn't need one. I wondered myself when I bought the maxx last year and I didn't miss it at all.

Re: It's here!!!!

I guess I'm not familiar with the active display and how it works exactly. I liked being able to see if I missed a call/email/text from nearly across the room by just glancing for the LED indication pulsing on my Maxx HD.

Re: It's here!!!!

Heck even CNN has a story on it and they tend to be pro Apple and Samsung

I'm with the Engineer on this. Probably not a deal breaker, but cannot imagine lack of the LED to keep me aware of any new texts or emails. I also am not familiar with the active display . . . maybe that does the same job as the notification led but in a different way?

No Verizon logo anywhere on the Nylon model.

Re: It's here!!!!

I thought I would miss the led but don't. I currently have a G2 for personal and the damn thing blinks green no matter what is coming in, cannot seem to get any xposed modules or anything to make it different colors for different notifications. I remember being able to do that on the Maxx HD I had before that, but you still had to look at the phone to see who was sending you the txt or email. I have a 2013 Moto X for my work phone and I really like the active notifications. You're phone is close and it will "pulse" the notifications on the screen. You can just kind of tap the phone and it will show you any notifications. I hear the new X is supposed to be way better with being able to just wave your hand over it. If I would have a choice I would take active notifications over LED. Hell, tried some xposed modules on my G2, but they didn't compare.

Re: It's here!!!!

I don't want to have to "wave my hand", tap the screen, or be close enough to see something on the screen if I can help it. I'm not one of those people that have to have their damn phone in their hand 24/7.

But that's just me. :)

No, it's not a deal breaker and I'll be buying this phone as soon as the store opens, but it is a bit of a letdown and is a feature that I've come to like over the iPhone (that I am forced to use for my work phone) which doesn't have the notification LED and forces me to pick up that lousy device to check for emails/calls.
