I'm finding very little not to absolutely love so far. I got the 64GB Ballistic Nylon version this morning with a near two hours wait. Employees said they'd never seen a Droid model fly off the shelves like this one - probably saw a dozen sold, mostly in red with 2 guys buying 2-each.
Spent all day setting up, tweaking & organizing with the only glitches user inflicted. Were you to ask me to sum it up in a word, although it could be many, I guess the first thing coming to mind is FAST. Fast at everything! Fast boot, fast response in every app, fast installs, fast downloads, just-plain-fast. Download test are within 10 % of my wired desktop from the opposite end of the house - and that's on 2.4 GHz, haven't tried the 5G AC yet. Got 47.83 Mbps (of my alloted 50) in the one test I ran which beats my prior Maxx which only hit 30 just a couple of times.
Fairly easy to set up, Moto did a good job with the way they handled the on-screen tutorials. My only real pain was setting up several Comcast email accounts, one of which had precisely 100 messages in it. I always leave mail on the server with no sync until downloaded by PC to clear it and the previous app would ignore any mail there that had been previously downloaded but not this puppy. If its on the server, it's coming atcha when you click open the account. Some previous setting options are missing so I'll just have to adapt & work around the new setup. And back to fast - in my fumbling trying to resolve this foolishness I download those 100 emails more times than I will ever own up to and then, had to delete them to trash & again from there. That's 200 deletions every time I screwed up and downloaded them. Dammit! The good news is, this thing will gobble up as fast as you can work a stylus - no lag, tap - its gone.
I'm about 98% slicked out with only having to assign contact photos & designate custom ringtones. Right now It's by far the sweetest phone I've owned and if I've ever even seen a better one I didn't recognize it as such.
As a side bar, no Verizon label anywhere on this model and the few pictures I took far exceeded and previous Moto phones I've seen and frankly, I thought they were terrific from a rather small sample.
It's late, I'm tired & have an early doctors appointment but I wanted to gush a bit before turning in. Thanks to all of you who provided so much good information before the release - quite a help for me making what I feel was the right call.
