Verizon Note 3 MMS with iPhones issue / Hangouts

I've been having issues with getting MMS messages from iPhones, they seem to get them OK, but I don't get any responses (and no its not that people are ignoring me). I use the latest version of hangouts, stock / unrooted. There are also times where if I send a picture message, it may not go through. I noticed there are two different APN settings in hangouts. I can't seem to tell a difference between the two as far as reliability.

I looked for other similar threads but most of those are from several months ago and had no resolution.

Its really about my only issue with this phone!

If you have had an iphone in the past you will need to contact Apple to remove your iMessage account.

Interesting. I've had three android phones since my iPhone but I never contacted apple to have them turn it off. I'll give that a try.
