Verizon Note 3 OTA update

Yes. I. Checked mine about 20 minutes ago and just rebooted and up about 5 minutes ago. It wasn't pushed to my phone, though. I checked for the update. Nothing different that I can tell visually. I guess it's mainly maintenance update for better connectivity from what I've read.

It's mainly to install bloat ware with some bug fixes.

Beware of the update if you have the hack to toggle hot-spot, it disabled it for me.

I excepted the update and found out to late that it breaks the mobile hotspot hack. Will the app be updated to fix this?

I'd assume they would if they could.

The fool proof way is rooting and hacking the hotspot.

If you have no reason to update (like those bugs never affected you or you didn't notice anything) and want to keep the hotspot working just don't update.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll go ahead and update even though I doubt there are really any "bugs". I'm sure it has more to do with fixing the Mobile Hotspot workaround and is just disguised as a fix to some "bugs". Verizon tends to force these updates down our collective throats whether or not we like them.

Verizon is bad about forcing the update. It would be nice if they were like Windows in that you can delete or refuse the update, but Verizon is the evil empire these days.

All I know is tonight I had my first lockup where the phone was unresponsive and the screen wouldn't come back on. After about a minute or so trying to get it back to life, I held down the power button and it rebooted after about 10 seconds. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Was this after the update and not during, or shortly after you thought the update was complete? I noticed mine had a black screen for a few minutes during the update. I just let it do its thing for about 20 minutes or so and I was good to go.

How would sound quality improve? Did they install beats audio? Sounds like two agendas here: breaking root+hotspot and installing some extra bloat ware. Mission accomplished vzw

I'm with Sprint and my Note 3 has done this a couple of times where it just stopped and became unresponsive. Hitting the power button made my screen go black and after holding it for 10 seconds, it rebooted. I think it's software related....4.3 to be precise.

Could they be talking about call quality as opposed to actual speaker sound quality? I know on Sprint, we got the update that improves call quality.

I can't recall this happening on my T-Mobile Note 3 yet.

Does this unlock advanced wireless services?

This was about 8 hours after the update. Never had it lockup before then. Coincidence?
