Verizon Note 3: Samsung update is freezing on download

In the past week my phone has 3 times started downloading a Samsung update and freezes part way through. I have waited hours and it does not progress any further. I can't tell exactly what it is as it only displays "Samsung A.." (Screenshot attached)

Does anyone know what this update is and why it might be failing to download?

Try restarting the phone. Sometimes mine hang and a quick restart fixes it.

I did restart it twice before. That clears the frozen download but a few days later it downloads again and then freezes again. Does anyone know what download it might be? What might be after the "A.."? Maybe just Android so that tells us nothing about what the download might be?

I did also get the following advice which I did. It also cleared it but am still waiting to see if it starts again.
"Try going to the app manager - scroll to all and find the Samsung App app. clear the cache, force stop, restart"
